Delaware's Coastal History Exhibit

The exhibition will look at what the water has provided, the impact of human interaction, and 'water' as a defining element of Delaware culture, including: traditions and stories related to hunting, fishing, and trapping; early commercial fishing; the oyster industry and shellfish; waterfowling and contemporary sport and charter fishing. And we will focus especially on the timely topic of how people have impacted the coastal environment, thanks to a grant from Ducks Unlimited.

The Exhibition breaks new ground for the Society because we will be partnering with our neighbors in the City of Newport and Ciba Specialty Chemicals to couple our museum tours with nature walks exploring the head waters of the Christina River when Newport introduces its new boardwalk nature trail next spring.
